As a follow-up to my previous post, I unfortunately did not luck out during our thrifting adventure. It was fun nonetheless, though! I’m always down to eat at new places, especially if it’s recommended on 7×7 Magazine’s 2010 Big Eat SF: 100 Things to Try Before You Die.

We started out by eating a burrito, nachos and watermelon agua fresca drinks at Puerto Allegra on 16th and Valencia.

We went through Bell Jar, a cutesy boutique where lo and behold I found glass knobs!

We then rummaged through the enormous Thrift Town, and later our lucky Goodwill where Kristen ran over with clearly far too many designer purses. I don’t know how she could have found nice condition Ferragamos last year, or Dooney & Bourke and Kate Spade purses this year, but we’re pretty sure the place is magical. The people who run it are also super nice.

We wandered down the rest of Mission up to 24th and stopped by Buffalo Exchange where Rachel found some really nice brown leather gloves. Aaaand then walked all the way back down Mission, stopping by Dosa for dinner and salted caramel ice cream at Bi-Rite Creamery (both on 7×7′s list)– both simply delicious. All in all, great weather, adventure, food and friends made for a great day.

Target, really?

Target has the loveliest oxford flats right now (online only)! Constellational and I each bought a pair, but mine were unfortunately slightly too large, so I returned them over the weekend. The black ones are wonderful–

Love! It’s okay, though. Explorology, Constellational and I are going thrifting in SF next week. I had mega luck and scored nearly brand new oxford heels for $3.75 last time we all went, so hopefully I’ll luck out again. We shall see!

To new beginnings

I want this to be a place where I can chronicle my interior design obsessions, crafting adventures and anything else (food, shopping, etc). I tend to start new blogs to mark new points in my life, so I guess this is my post-college blog with a focus on my hobbies and non-academic interests since I’m no longer engulfed by classes.

So why Glass Knob? It’s not that great of a story.. I just fell in love with old details like glass knobs when I went on my apartment hunt at the end of my freshman year. It’s kind of why I am a kid in a candy shop when I pass through Anthropologie’s hardware selection. Constellational and I actually frolicked around yesterday (stares were definitely made in our direction):
